GD Scan
The genomic platform has enabled the implementation of the GD SCAN genotyping service. This tool offers breeders the possibility to obtain, based on a biological sample, a detailed evaluation of the genetic potential of each female in the herd, immediately after the animal is born.
The resulting genomic indexes are twice as precise as those obtained by the parent average, and cover all of the traits (production, conformation, functional traits), including those with the lowest heritability.
Herewith GD SCAN supplies breeders with information that is essential for the genetic development of the herd, for each of the decisions made by the herd managers (matings, replacements, insemination, sexed semen, embryo transplantation).
This tool offers an exact and objective view of the potential of the herd. Compared with the obtained performance, the breeder identifies at a single glance in which areas progress can be made (feeding, veterinary care, herd management).
