JESTHER and longevity
On June 20th and 21st, 2009, the interregional show “Campagne en Fête” was held
at the French village of Poix de Picardie (80), where 86 animals participated in
the Holstein Show. The record of achievements attributed an important role to the
longevity traits, thus underlining the undeniable qualities of JESTHER in the area
of the functional traits.
A total of 23 breeders were represented in a high-level
Holstein show judged by Philippe Deru, who amongst others has also judged at the
Paris show this year.
Heifers: a RED one on the roll of honor
On the honor roll of the heifer contest we find a first place in class for a daughter
of DICTATOR, owned by L’EARL du Buisson Gritt at La Hay St-Romain (80). From the
same breeding herd, a daughter of VADEEN distinguished herself with another 1st
place. And finally we want to mention in particular the great success of an ELAYO
RED daughter that first won a first place, and went on to become the Heifer Champion
of the show. This heifer belongs to GAEC Ducellier of Coullemont (62).
In the young cow classes we saw two 2nd places go to a daughter of ROYAUME, and
to a daughter of TANARO Red that also won the honors of Reserve Champion Young.
JESTHER, the required qualities
With a favorable orientation of the judge towards a bull such as JESTHER, two of
his daughters have obtained first place in their classes: Utopie of GAEC de la Jonquière
(60) and Star Ots of Mr Morand, of the Ferme d’Autes (76).
Her class victory only was a step on the way for Star Ots. For this cow, in her
5th lactation, also captured the titles of Best Udder and Adult Champion, before
being elected Grand Champion of the show.
Congratulations to the Ferme d’Autes for this outstanding accomplishment and to
all breeders that have participated in the show.
