Holstein show department Nord : Genes Diffusion dominates the show

On Saturday, September 17th 2011, the traditional Holstein Show of the Département Nord has taken place. Organized within the framework of the « Fête du Lait » at Quesnoy (59), the Holstein Show had thrown in five championship prizes. Three of them went to daughters of Genes Diffusion bulls.

Around 60 animals were assembled for the Holstein Show which was judged, for the occasion, by Thierry MENARD, in charge of the inspectors of Prim’Holstein France.

BOURBON: top-level conformation

Dorée, daughter of BOURBONThe first of the three championships won by Genes Diffusion genetics, was awarded to Dorée, a daughter of the « senior » bull BOURBON. She was designated Champion Futurity and Best Udder Futurity. Dorée was born at GAEC Dutremée in Choisies (Fr) and is a cow with an original career. Sourced by Mickaël FIEVET, a Holstein sire analyst for Genes Diffusion, she was bought, on his advice, by EARL Lepoint in order to make her shine at the shows. And that’s exactly what she did!

Venus, Dorée's dam and her daughter of SEMERIESTalking about beautiful cows, BOURBON knows all about that! Among the « senior » sires, he is one of the most outstanding for type (+3.3). Which makes sense, as he originates from a family that is well-known in this area: GOLDWYN x CHAMPION x DURHAM x RUDOLPH, and it was his dam, Jennifer, who has won the SPACE show in 2008.

Grenade, daughter of LAXTER

Granddam of LAXTER: Lylehaven Lila ZGrenade, daughter of LAXTER, owned by EARL Lepoint, was Champion Milking Heifers. LAXTER, a bull with a pedigree brimming with good type, comes from a prestigious family: BAXTER x GOLDWYN, while his maternal granddam is no other than the « one million dollar cow » Lylehaven Lila Z. A rare occurrence in a cattle show, 7-month-old Grenade was the youngest of the heifers to participate in the regional show. Which did not prevent her in any way from winning the championship in her class.

Finally, we’d like to mention the performance of Fatéo, daughter of the Genes Diffusion bull MATEO, who became Champion Bred Cows at the Département Nord Show. Fatéo belongs to GAEC Leroy Louvion at Avesnes-les-Aubert (Fr).

By winning three of the five championships, the genetics of Genes Diffusion have left their mark on the 2011 honor list of the show of the Department Nord. It also proves that being successful at Holstein Shows is not only the prerogative of North-American genetics.
