It is 25 years now, that BOS GENETIC exerts its expertise in the area of high-quality Holstein genetics. On June 24, 2010, the Hungarian company has received several delegations from abroad to celebrate its quarter-of-a-century existence.

The June index release is relatively rich in new bulls, but not very original ones, unfortunately. Just like the last index round, there are numerous O-Man sons that monopolize the top positions in the ranking. In this new release, Gènes Diffusion was very well represented with no less than 5 bulls in the top 10.
The cooperation between Genes Diffusion and Safak Çevik, Director of Demsa Genetik, goes back a long time. In 1996, large numbers of French heifers were imported in Turkey.

On the 21st of April 2010, the Genes Diffusion genomic platform officially received the CSPro certification from the American company ILLUMINA. This certification attests to the capacities of the beneficiary, which receives it to process and provide high-quality data for genetic analysis applications.
Within the last few weeks the bull dam Anderstrup Roumare Bahama has gone from being an interesting potential bull dam, to being a real star with high indexes, show success and a really high classification. She recently scored EX-90 with 90 for her superb mammary system.

Organized at Eurogénétique and in cooperation with Prim’Holstein France, the first edition of the “Longevity Challenge” has made it possible to bring the highest producers from France together in one place. More than one million liters of milk have been presented in the ring at Eurogénétique in the “Best milking cow” class!

The new IBOVAL 2010 index release places 4 bulls from Genes Diffusion ahead of all the French bulls that receive a total index IVMAT (maternal traits), with TAMILLY at 131 IVMAT, POPULAIR at 129, and SISTERON and TRYPHON both at 125. These 4 outstanding newcomers are confirming their figures, as well as a few other proven sires.

Arnaud BARANGER and Martine BROUWER had the opportunity to visit the Shanghai Dairy Breeding Center. In China, milk production is developing at a high pace. In 10 years, the national production has quadrupled. The demand for milk is increasing all the time. So the need for milking cows, good milking cows is considerable. In a close partnership with Union Charolais Croissance, the sire analysts of Genes Diffusion responsible for Charolais genetics have chosen three bulls amongst 200 bulls that had been tested at the Migennes station. These three outstanding proven sires, two of which were first of their series, will represent 3 basic groups from the Charolais Optimal program.

To refresh your memory: It was during the largest dairy show in the southern hemisphere, the International Dairy Week 2008. With around 30 animals in the sale, a daughter from ROUMARE attracted the top price of 26,900 Euro (443,000 A$) . This superb heifer, Anastasia, was acquired by Jet Star Holsteins, a farm in the northern part of the state of Victoria.

POPULAIR is a Charolais bull with a very fitting name. Known and appreciated by breeders both in France and abroad, this 2006 « Maternal Qualities Champion » was born at the farm of Jean-Marc GUILHEM, in the Saône & Loire department (71). UNIBLOC, another bull originating from this farm, has also recently entered the selection program of Gènes Diffusion.

The numbers of the recent index release for « Aptitudes Bouchères » (Beef Aptitudes) have arrived, showing an overwhelming success for the new generation of polled Charolais bulls.
PLM Magazine has composed an honor list of the most-used Holstein sires of 2008. Three bulls from Gènes Diffusion can be found in the top 10.
Just as in 2008, the Holstein and Charolais breeding programs from Gènes Diffusion were both rewarded during the “Inel d’Or 2009”, awards presented by La France Agricole and L’Eleveur Laitier.

In an article that was published in August 2009, Holstein International offered a complete panorama of the most used bulls worldwide. And that is where a bull that was proven by Gènes Diffusion in Slovakia, his succeeded to play himself in the spotlights, being the most used bull in that Central-European country.
On the occasion of the National Charolais Show, held at La Roche-sur-Yon on August 27 – 29 of this year, an open-air showcase of Charolais Breeders from the Vendée region was presented at the grounds of the Etablières farm. Apis Diffusion, the cooperative for animal insemination, had reserved two areas for the promotion of the bulls of the Charolais Optimal program.

For this year’s traditional National Charolais Show, held at la Roche-sur-Yon on August 27, 28 and 29, 550 animals have travelled to the Vendée region. Genes Diffusion certainly did not fall short of expectations with the Charolais Optimal show and the presentation of the bulls housed at the stud of CIA Apis Diffusion.

On June 20th and 21st, 2009, the interregional show “Campagne en Fête” was held at the French village of Poix de Picardie (80), where 86 animals participated in the Holstein Show. The record of achievements attributed an important role to the longevity traits, thus underlining the undeniable qualities of JESTHER in the area of the functional traits.

In October of 2007, Genes Diffusion and IMV Technologies signed a letter of intent. As of January 31st, 2008 there has been a definitive agreement concerning the transfer, by GENES DIFFUSION to IMV Technologies of all of its branch activities related to equipment and consumables in the field of swine artificial insemination on the international level.

Genes Diffusion Group did officially join the capital of the private Hungarian company BOS GENETIC,one of the main Hungarian operators in the Holstein selection and bovine artificial insemination.
The hot hitting 5th type ranking bull, Roumare has made his UK debut in a Northern Ireland pedigree Holstein herd. Christopher & John Crea of Slieveroe Holsteins from Downpatrick, Co Down are delighted with their beautiful heifer calf just born a couple of weeks ago.
