Partnership between Genes Diffusion and IMV Technologies in the field of pig technologies
and equipment for swine artificial insemination
The Genes Diffusion Group and IMV Technologies signed a letter of intent on October
26, 2007, concerning an agreement to transfer Genes Diffusion pig technologies,
equipment, and consumables used in the field of artificial insemination to IMV.
This agreement also establishes a long-term partnership between the two organizations
which will allow both groups to accelerate their grown by developing new biotechnology
products in the field of animal reproduction.
On January 1, 2008, IMV Technologies would acquire the Genes Diffusion swine insemination
equipment line and semen extenders. This includes world renown products such as
Collectis, Gedis and Gedil semen extender. This acquisition would also include in
the future the new technology of swine semen encapsulation.
Genes Diffusion would continue to distribute the equipment line and semen extender
to the French and Belgian territories. In these territories, swine insemination
products, currently available through IMV Technologies (ie; blister bags, AI catheters,
extenders, packing machines, and laboratory equipment), would also be available
through Genes Diffusion.
With this agreement, IMV Technologies would consolidate its leadership in the development,
manufacturing and distribution of swine insemination equipment. Genes Diffusion
would emphasize its expertise in the development of biotechnologies in the field
of various animal species and would give IMV the right of pre-emption for the distribution
of these products worldwide.
This agreement should allow both companies to optimize the strategy of their respective
special skills and build a strong privileged partnership. The collaboration between
Genes Diffusion and IMV Technologies would increase the emergence of new products
and technologies to the customers and distributors of both organizations while respecting
existing commitments.
